On 26 March, USI visiting scholar Theresa Enright will give a lunch seminar on transit art and the cultural politics of infrastructure. Enright is professor of urban politics at the University of Toronto, researching and teaching about global cities and suburbs, mobility, architecture, governance, and social justice.

Financing public infrastructure innovatively

To realize enormous public infrastructure works, such as covering the ring road around Antwerp, there is a need for innovative financing methods. On 3 April 2019,the Urban Studies Institute will try to find out how to “make the quantum leap”, co-organized by Ringland Academie, Stad Antwerpen, BAM, and MOW – AWV.

Summer school on urban logistics

From 19 until 30 August, the University of Antwerp hosts a second edition of the summer school on urban logistics. It addresses the planning and managing of transport in urban areas in today’s dynamic context, with a focus on innovation and sustainability.
