NEWSLETTER – MARCH 2023

Welcome to the first edition of VSTEP’s newsletter for 2023! We are thrilled to share some amazing updates with you, including the incredible news that our Net Promoter Score (NPS) has reached a remarkable 79% – more on this later! This score is a testament to the satisfaction our customers feel with our product, NAUTIS.

This year has been jam-packed with exciting developments, such as the upcoming release of a new version of NAUTIS that promises to be an even more advanced tool for maritime training and education. We have also added new features to NAUTIS Home, making it easier for customers to access and utilize the platform’s resources.

As always, we have been actively participating in key industry events and globe-trotting to visit (potential) customers. We will share some of our next destinations for this year later in the newsletter. Looking forward to meeting you there!

Best regards,
The VSTEP Team

NAUTIS

OUTLOOK

At the end of the first quarter, we plan to release NAUTIS 3.9. As you can see in the image below, we are very excited about all the new developments that are coming to the NAUTIS simulator for our B2B users. Version 3.9 and later this year 3.10 will make sure that we keep developing and improving our solution allowing our customers to get the most teaching time out of the simulator. We are most enthusiastic about the new ocean model, which will significantly advance our simulator in 2023.

CUSTOMER KNOWLEDGE

Last year, we launched efforts to learn about our customers’ needs and opinions regarding VSTEP and our products. We research this through a range of initiatives:  Net Promoter Score  As of March 2023, VSTEP’s Net Promoter Score (NPS) is 79%, which indicates a high degree of fulfillment of our customers in our product!

Over the last six months, VSTEP has used NPS to gauge the level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.

We asked our customers a single question: “How likely are you to recommend NAUTIS?”. We kindly requested that they provide their response on a scale of 0 to 10, with 0 representing “not at all likely” and 10 representing “extremely likely.”

An NPS of 50 or higher is regarded as exceptional, while a score of 30 or less is deemed substandard.

We are delighted with the score we have achieved. We are going to continue to survey our customers and share the outcomes with you.  Qualitative Interviews   Qualitative interviews are a form of structured conversation where we ask deepening questions around our customers’ experiences with NAUTIS and the company overall. The questions focus on customers’ opinions about our current marketing and how we can improve. We also gather information that feeds into our developments and innovations.   As an example, please see below a video feedback that STC Group, Dutch international maritime transport and logistics education provider, kindly recorded for us.

NAUTIS HOME

Navigation now available in NAUTIS Home

Until now, NAUTIS Home individual training and assessment was focused on Basic Maneuvering. This year, Navigation has a prominent place on the development roadmap.

The feature development for Navigation has started, beginning with navigational marks on chart which are already available in NAUTIS Home since the last successful product update on March 7th, 2023.

This is a large step in the development of NAUTIS Home to facilitate more of your training needs. It is just a start, more features are coming such as navigation lights, training scenarios and corresponding courseware in our Learning Experience Platform (LXP).

As VSTEP we strive to innovate and improve our simulation software solutions for businesses, such as NAUTIS, from which NAUTIS Home will benefit in development as well.

You can find the NAUTIS Home development roadmap below. We are excited to see where we can take NAUTIS Home this year!

DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP

NAUTIS Home for Organizations

NAUTIS Home is ideal for maritime professionals to keep their skills up to industry standards. However, NAUTIS Home allows maritime organizations and training centers to scale their current training program in quick manner without major hardware investments since NAUTIS Home runs on a PC.

The Royal Canadian Sea Cadets from Manitoulin Island in Ontario are using NAUTIS Home as their training tool.   The cadets enjoy being able to train with realistic ship simulation and can spend more time bringing theory immediately into practice with training scenarios in NAUTIS Home.

With NAUTIS Home, ship simulation becomes accessible on a larger scale to increase training hours for maritime students and professionals.

Would you like to learn how NAUTIS Home can help you scale your current training program? Feel free to contact us for more information.

VSTEP LXP

Launching NAUTIS Home was an important step for us to expand the accessibility of high-quality professional ship simulation. We continue to build on our mission to enable learning by simulation on a large scale to make simulation-based learning a vital part of maritime education and training programs.

With our Learning Experience Platform (LXP) we aim for a seamless integration of learning content and simulation for organizations, whether trainees train at home or on-site.

It is a platform that provides organizations with ways to gain more capacity out of their current simulators, manage learning journeys and organize teaching materials. Training and learning can be performed individually or with an instructor.
