Change your lifestyle or simply live your dream!
Bivouacs, cruises, trips around the world … Travelling with your family or on your own aboard a boat (yours or rented)… a trend that has been growing for several years. Indeed, the health crisis has led people to question their current lifestyles and has empower them in their desire to get away from it all and get back to nature, to the essentials. For those who
dream of casting off, new boats combining comfort and safety will be displayed at the boat show. These boats, some of which are built in aluminium, have a lifting keel that permits beach in paradisiacal creeks. Multihulls are nowadays also very popular for this type of longdistance escape.

Boatyards focus on an exceptional comfort on board: large portholes offering excellent luminosity in the cabins, numerous stowage lockers, functional galleys equipped with large refrigerators, dishwasher, washing machine, heating, etc. They are also equipped with a watermaker as well as wind turbines and other hydro-generators to be energy self-sufficient for several months. As for the deck fittings, everything is suitable for long-distance cruise. These boats can be manoeuvred with a small crew, everything is done from the cockpit, which makes it possible to plan family sailing cruises in total safety!

EXEMPTION REQUEST FOR THE GRAND PAVOIS LA ROCHELLE 2020

In order to keep all the exhibitors and visitors expected at the Grand Pavois La Rochelle 2020 informed, Grand Pavois Organisation (editor’s note: a non-profit organisation managed by yachting professionals since 1973), through its Board of Directors chaired by Mr Alain Pochon, has officially requested an exemption from the Prefect of Charente-Maritime to be able to welcome more than 5,000 visitors maximum at the boat show, from Tuesday 29 September to Sunday 4 October 2020. This request for exemption was also supported by the Mayor of La Rochelle and the President of the La Rochelle Urban Community.

It should be remembered that the Grand Pavois La Rochelle must now comply with the French Prime Minister’s decisions from August 11, that bans events gathering more than 5,000 people, until at least 30 October.

However, in certain exceptional cases, where the Prefect of the Department (French official) is allowed by the Government to exceed this limit if the public health situation enables him to do so.

The Prefect of La Charente-Maritime has informed that he will give an answer by the middle of next week (from 24 to 28 August). At the mean time, a Grand Pavois Organisation Board’s meeting will be held, in order to review all the facts and information that may have consequences regarding the holding of the 48th edition of the Grand Pavois La Rochelle.

At last and for your information, Grand Pavois Organisation has also asked the Unimev (Union Française des Métiers de l’Evénement) to request clarifications from the government. (For instance: Is there a difference between indoor and outdoor events? Is the 5,000 gauge per day or at a given moment?)
