NIEUWE INNOVATIES VOOR DE BLUEPOINT! NEW INNOVATIONS FOR THE BLUEPOINT!

The BluePoint has only just returned from Australia and a whole new adventure awaits her. 7 team members have been working non-stop these last few months, researching new innovations to make the solar car even better. The team wants to prepare the car for a new challenge!

Just before the Agoria Solar Team left for Australia, seven new team members started a new challenge. Their goal: to make the BluePoint even better through new innovations. They made sure that the research for an even better solar car didn’t grind to a halt in the period before, during and after the world championship!

The team chose three projects that will make the BluePoint an even better solar car. Every Tuesday you can discover a new project and therefore a new part of the team via social media. This Tuesday, the first project was announced: Aerodynamics!

AERODYNAMICA

As always, aerodynamics is one of the most challenging and important aspects when building a solar car. This year Raf and Julian (see photo on the left) will reduce the aerodynamic drag of the car by taking into account the behaviour of spinning wheels. This is very complex and therefore also the first time that the Solar Team researches this. With the results of their research, Raf and Julian will be able to design new parts for the car and implement them on the BluePoint.

Team Tuesday: Aerodynamica

Just like this week, a new project will be announced via social media on Tuesday for the next two weeks. So don’t forget to follow us if you’d like to find out what two other improvements will be made to the BluePoint!

Just before the start of the new year it was finally time! The BluePoint arrived back in the port of Antwerp. All team members were eager to welcome the car back to Belgium. Some because they missed the car, others because they couldn’t wait to start working on the car.

It was very exciting for all team members to see the container open and find out if the BluePoint had made it to Belgium in one piece.

The BluePoint came out of her flightcase without a single scratch. Time to go back to the workshop in Leuven!
